Growing up, I was always the smaller kid. I didn’t eat much and had no idea how nutrition worked. So I always felt vulnerable, as if I had no ability to change my situation. Because of this, I created a very negative self-image and believed I wasn’t really worth much. This came to absolute fruition when I got into highschool and went through my first breakup.

To make a long story short, after my first breakup I began an absolute nose dive, spiralling out of control. It was at this point that my best friends stepped into my life, screwed my head on straight and pushed me into the world of fitness. My life was forever changed because I was able to turn negative emotions into something positive for myself. Years later I realized how monumental this change would be to my life. Often in life we find ourselves in complete disarray. Up is down, left is right and inside becomes out. In these times we become easily influenced by the people around us. Looking back I realize how lucky I was that the people around me influenced me to do better.
There is no amount of gifts or thanks I can give back to my friends for pushing me in the right direction during my time of vulnerability. So I decided the only thing I can do is pass it forward and become the same guiding light that lead me. I became a personal trainer and founded Slim-Killa Fitness as a nod to the person I once was and a thanks to the gift my best friends gave me.
